      Qi Gong (pronounced "chee gong") is an ancient Chinese mind/body practice that is a powerful and effective method of  health care.  Thousands of years old, Qi Gong has a rich and diverse history and consequently can be practiced in many different ways.  Qi Gong is, in and of itself, a full preventative health care system that strengthens mind, body & spirit simultaneously.  It is especially effective at developing inner strength and reducing stress-both cellular oxidative stress and mental/emotional stress.


      Tai Chi (pronounced "tie chee") is a specialized form of Qi Gong that is a slow moving martial art. The primary difference between the two, as we teach it, is that Qi Gong works to strengthen inner qi or vital essence while Tai Chi teaches us to express that inner qi externally and thus interact more harmoniously with those around us.  Tai Chi is also more oriented toward physical balance and has more benefits for fall prevention than Qi Gong.  See Drop Down Menu for more specific information and Class Descriptions.
